Yarrabee is aboriginal for place of many gums.

Our garden is a mixture of Australian native and exotics, with dry sunny spots and shady spots.

The garden covers 5 acres or 2.5 hectares and along with the many garden beds has a dam, waterfall and 3 ponds.

Located just 20 minutes from Geelong it is well worth a visit from anyone who has an interest in gardening.

Discover the covered orchard which has over 38 fruit trees and houses strawberry beds along with loganberry, blackberry, raspberries and Inca berries.

Water comes from our own bore which has a fairly high salt content and can only be used to water the ground. However we do have an irrigation system which we can change from town water to bore water when needed
On the property is a dam which is filled with natural run off water.

Lara is the driest area in this district. We normal only have 304-460mm (12+ inches) of rain per year.

Soil type is heavy clay so compost is incorporated into the soil for new plantings or re-planting.

We mulch heavily with wood mulch purchased by the truckload from a local mulch centre in Geelong.

You can even buy fresh/frozen berries or fruit when in season.
They are great from jams or that smoothie on a hot day.

If you’re not into making jam come and try or buy one of our many homemade jams or relishes.
